Abstract(s)
Administração do Porto (ISCAP).
A revisão bibliográfica possibilitou a delimitação dos temas a estudar, nomeadamente o
conceito de auditoria interna e externa, a profissão do Revisor Oficial de Contas, a Educação
e a profissão do auditor no futuro.
The permanent need of acquiring new competencies by the individual requires that educational institutions adapt to be able to "teach" the students the skills that the job market currently demands. The problem in study is centred in understanding the appreciation of academic competencies in the labour market and if ISCAP – Superior Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto, is considered an educational institution of prestige. The objectives defined for this research are based on knowing the opinion of students and Official Accountants Revisers concerning academic training, prestige of the educational establishments and focusing on the courses of Accounting and Administration and the Master in Auditing taught in the Superior Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (ISCAP). The literature review allowed the delimitation of the subjects to be studied, namely the concept of internal and external audit, the profession of the Official Accountants Revisers, the education and the profession of the auditor in the future. In order to find answers to the research questions, a questionnaire was made available to the auditors registered in the Order of the Official Accountants Revisers that were “in activity” and had an electronic mail available. It was also made available in the social network Facebook, a questionnaire to the students that are attending the Course of Accounting and Administration in the Superior Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto. In this way it was possible to conclude that ISCAP is a prestigious educational institution, the academic training is an asset in the business world and that higher education courses should have more practical components.
