Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação apresenta o resultado de uma pesquisa realizada, através da recolha de
dados, nos distritos do Porto e Aveiro, onde foram analisados os fatores determinantes do (in)sucesso
estratĂ©gico de clĂnicas/gabinetes (CG) particulares com a valĂȘncia de terapia da fala (TF). Inicia com a
apresentação de algumas consideraçÔes conceptuais relativas à empresa, organização e inovação.
De seguida, são descritos os principais passos a dar em Portugal para a constituição de uma empresa
e é feita uma abordagem aos temas da viabilidade estratégica de um projeto e do conceito de plano
de negócios. A parte teórica do presente projeto de investigação encerra com os fatores de sucesso e
insucesso empresarial descritos na literatura.
Neste trabalho, procura-se analisar as principais determinantes de sobrevivĂȘncia das novas empresas
ligadas Ă ĂĄrea da TF. Para tal, procedeu-se Ă recolha de dados junto de proprietĂĄrios e/ou gestores de
CG particulares com TF, nos distritos de Porto e Aveiro, selecionados a partir da base de dados da
Entidade Reguladora da SaĂșde (ERS), das PĂĄginas Amarelas Online e da Internet com as palavraschave:
âclĂnicas, gabinetes, terapia da falaâ.
Os resultados estatisticamente tratados e analisados evidenciam a importĂąncia dos seguintes fatores
como estatisticamente significativos para o sucesso de uma CG privada com TF nos distritos de Porto
e Aveiro: maior antiguidade da CG, maior nĂșmero de utentes, de concorrentes e de TF a trabalhar,
assim como a realização de rastreios na årea da TF.
Fatores como: proprietĂĄrio com formação na ĂĄrea da gestĂŁo, maior nĂșmero de valĂȘncias, publicidade
e acessibilidades na CG, parecem contribuir para o aumento das hipĂłteses de sobrevivĂȘncia de CG
particulares com TF nos distritos de Porto e Aveiro, ainda que nĂŁo sejam estatisticamente
significativos.
Em contrapartida, a falta de um plano de negĂłcios parece ser um fator que influencia o insucesso
destas CG.
The current thesis presents the results of a research, through the assembly of data in Oporto and Lisbon districts, in which the determining factors for strategic failure or success of private clinics/cabinets (CC) with Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) valence were analysed. It begins with the presentation of some conceptual considerations about companies, organisation and innovation. Then, the main steps to set up a company in Portugal are described and an approach to the themes of strategic feasibility of a project and the concept the business plan is made. The theoretical part of the current investigation project ends with the success and failure business factors exposed in literature. In this study we try to analyse the main determinants for survival of new companies related to the SLT area. Thus, we assembled data with the owners and/or administrators of private CC with SLT in Porto and Aveiro of the country, selected from the data base of the Regulatory Entity of Health Care (REHC), the Online Yellow Pages and the Internet with the keywords âclinics, cabinets, Speech and Language Therapyâ. The results, analysed and statistically treated, point out the importance of the following factors as statistically relevant for the success of a private CC with SLT in the north: higher longevity of the CC, higher number of patients, competitors and SLT to work with, as well as the performance of screening in the area of SLT. Factors such as owner with training in management, higher number of valences, and advertising and accessibility in the CC seem to contribute to the increase of the survival chances of private CC with SLT in the northern region of the country, despite not being statistically significant. On the other hand, the lack of a business plan seems to be a factor which influences the failure of these CC.
