Este trabalho de investigação aborda todo o conceito de conceção de um
editorial para uma empresa — a Ecosteel. Sendo uma investigação teórica e prática,
estuda a realização de um catálogo para a entidade parceira, tratando todos os resultados
do procedimento de criação em colaboração com a empresa, trabalhando no processo
criativo e abordando as consequências do trabalho de equipa e da conciliação de várias
opiniões para um resultado sólido e que agradasse as duas partes envolvidas.
Neste relatório, há uma pequena introdução a empresa, mais propriamente a
marca Much More Than a Window, mostrando os seus serviços e algumas das suas
metodologias de trabalho. Seguidamente, o desenvolvimento teórico centra—se no
estudo do tema do design editorial, analisando literatura acerca do tema, para conseguir
obter uma opinião formada da sua evolução ao longo do tempo. Segue—se um capitulo
destinado ao enquadramento teórico—pratico, em que foram estudados varios conceitos
sobre o tema, como o formato, e aspetos da produção de uma publicação editorial como
a escolha correta do tipo de papel, por exemplo. O quinto capitulo destina—se a analise
de casos de estudo, vendo como certos aspetos e conceitos foram aplicados em
determinados casos práticos e dissecando todo o processo de criação.
Quanto a parte prática, o desenvolvimento projetual é a culminação desta
investigação, dando resultado a maquete final do editorial para a Ecosteel. Neste
relatório, é possível ler e perceber todas as etapas presentes no desenvolvimento do
projeto. São revelados os desafios propostos e as decisões tomadas, com o porquê de
terem sido formadas daquela forma, assim como os testes desenvolvidos, as concessões
realizadas e as soluções encontradas. A respetiva conclusão de todo o projeto ao longo
do ano termina com as dificuldades obtidas no decorrer deste percurso académico.
This research work addresses the whole concept of designing an editorial for a company — Ecosteel. Being a theoretical and practical investigation, it studies the creation of a catalog for the partner entity, treating all the results of the creation procedure in collaboration with the company, working on the creative process and addressing the consequences of teamwork and the reconciliation of various opinions for a solid result that would please both parties involved. In this report, there is a short introduction to the company, more specifically the Much More Than a Window brand, showing its services and some of its working methodologies. Then, the theoretical development focuses on the study of the theme of editorial design, analyzing literature on the subject, in order to obtain a formed opinion of its evolution over time. This is followed by a chapter for the theoretical—practical framework, in which various concepts on the topic were studied, such as the format, and aspects of the production of an editorial publication such as the correct choice of paper type, for example. The fifth chapter is dedicated to the analysis of case studies, looking at how certain aspects and concepts were applied in certain practical cases and dissecting the entire creation process. As for the practical part, the project development is the culmination of this investigation, resulting in the final model of the editorial for Ecosteel. In this report, it is possible to read and understand all the stages present in the development of the project. The proposed challenges and the decisions taken are revealed, with the reason why they were formed that way, as well as the tests developed, the concessions made and the solutions found. The respective completion of the entire project over the year ends with the difficulties obtained during the academic path.
