A hotelaria e um serviço de pessoas para pessoas, que pretende a satisfação das necessidades, bem como, proporcionar experiências memoráveis aos seus hóspedes.
Dos vários serviços prestados num estabelecimento hoteleiro, destacam-se os de alojamento e de alimentação e bebidas, para além de outros que procuram a diferenciação, como é o caso dos centros de wellness e spas, que proporcionam a prática de tratamentos e outros serviços, pensados no bem-estar físico e psíquico dos clientes.
A realização de um estágio longo num hotel de cinco estrelas permite a aquisição de novos conhecimentos, experiências e o desenvolvimento de competências, num contexto real de trabalho, fundamentais para um estudante que pretende integrar no mundo de trabalho da hotelaria.
Durante a realização do estágio, desenvolveu-se um estudo de caso sobre a relevância do wellness para a hotelaria, cujo objetivo principal foi analisar o wellness e o spa, com o intuito de compreender a sua importância para a hotelaria, num contexto de oferta de produtos e serviços. Desenvolveu-se o estudo de caso sobre o vvellness no Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa, onde se analisou um conjunto de fatores, como a oferta de serviços do hotel e de wellness, a evolução da receita e do número de clientes dos serviços de wellness, identificou o perfil dos clientes que procuram os serviços de wellness, averiguou o posicionamento do wellness no contexto de oferta de serviços, identificou o perfil de competências do spa manager, e por último, identificou o nível de sazonalidade dos serviços de wellness.
Este estudo assentou numa metodologia qualitativa, através do método de estudo de caso, permitiu a recolha de dados e informação essenciais, tratados através de análise de conteúdo, para responder aos objetivos da investigação.
Os resultados foram analisados e apresentados de acordo com os objetivos da investigação. Constatou-se a relevância do wellness e do spa, em contexto hoteleiro, num hotel de cinco estrelas direcionado para o segmento corporativo, com uma grande aposta, em termos de serviços e instalações no wellness e spa.

Of the various services provided in a hotel establishment, accommodation and food and beverage stand out, in addition to others that seek differentiation, such as wellness centers and spas, which provide treatments and other services designed for customers' physical and psychological well-being. Carrying out a long internship in a five-star hotel allows the acquisition of new knowledge, experiences and the development of skills in a real work context, which is fundamental for a student who wants to integrate into the world of work in the hotel industry. During the internship, a case study was developed on the relevance of wellness for the hotel industry, whose main objective was to analyze wellness and the spa to understand its importance in the hotel industry in a context of offering products and services. The case study on wellness at the Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa was developed, where a set of factors was analyzed, such as the offer of hotel and wellness services, the evolution of revenue and the number of customers of wellness services, identified the profile of customers who seek wellness services, ascertained the positioning of wellness In the context of service offering, it identified the SAP Manager's skills profile, and finally, it identified the level of seasonality of wellness services. This study was based on a qualitative methodology, which, through the case study method, allowed the collection of essential data and information, processed through content analysis, to respond to the research objectives. The results were analyzed and presented according to the objectives of the investigation. In a hotel context, the relevance of wellness and spa was found in a five-star hotel aimed at the corporate segment, with a great focus on services and facilities in wellness and spa.
