Abstract(s)
The present work was carried out within the scope of the Dissertation / Internship discipline, of the Master of Chemical Engineering, in the Energy and Biorefinery branch of ISEP, in the company Continental - Industria Têxtil do Ave during the period of 8 months. The main objective of this work was the implementation of a data acquisition systems, ESSDAS and PME (Power Monitoring Expert), software’s aimed at the control and management of energy consumption. At the same time, the evaluation of the implementation of the ECO VAC system was carried out, in the natural gas consumptions of the greenhouses of the screen impregnation machine. For the implementation of the management systems, a previous study of its operation was made as well as the optimization of the existent communications to eliminate the faults that occurred. The PME was functional for the electric energy analyzers, with the rest still under study to evaluate the best way to communicate with the server. The MESSDAS, due to the constant occurrence of errors, coming from the parallel communication of the two software’s, was in standby. It is then necessary to determine the correct parameterization so that the measuring equipment can communicate with both management systems without failures. The energy evaluation of the screen impregnation machine was not performed with the id of the implemented management systems, since only the electrical energy analyzers were connected to the systems, so the evaluation was done with experimental tests, reading the consumption values directly from the counters. ECO VAC is an optimization system that, depending on the local atmospheric pressure, controls the exhaust flow rate of the greenhouses, thus contributing to improve the natural gas consumption of the impregnating machine (Zell). The influence of this system was studied in three types of screens, being verified an 8% drop in natural gas consumption.
