Abstract(s)
O que seria se não tivesse abandonado a cidade onde cresci? Regresso a Viseu com a ideia de fazer um filme documentário do meu reencontro com os antigos colegas de liceu que não voltei a ver, desde que deixei a cidade, há vinte anos. Será uma viagem no tempo, um regresso a um espaço que já não me é familiar. Como não me encontro a viver na cidade onde cresci, pergunto-me onde estão e o que fazem essas pessoas, que sonhos foram cumpridos e quais ficaram por realizar. Esta época que pertence à minha memória pessoal remonta a um tempo específico, a um ponto de viragem no meu percurso pessoal.
No ano seguinte migrei para Lisboa para iniciar um novo ciclo de estudos, no Ensino Superior e este grupo de amigos do tempo de liceu foi progressivamente desaparecendo da minha vida. Alguns deles acompanharam-me na ida para Lisboa para frequentar estudos superiores ligados às artes. Neste momento, ao questionar sobre as suas vidas acabo por reflectir sobre o meu percurso até aqui. Escolhi um objecto icónico como referência, o livro de ponto que costumava estar na secretária do professor e que tinha na sua página de abertura as fotografias de passe dos colegas de turma pela qual se fazia uma chamada.
Esse ritual da evocação dos nomes em voz alta será inspirador para a estrutura do meu filme e deste ensaio. Parto numa viagem às minhas memórias pessoais dos locais e das pessoas, regressando à cidade onde nasci e cresci, à procura da turma do meu 12º ano de escolaridade do final dos anos oitenta.
What if it had not abandoned the town where I grew up? I'm Returning to Viseu with the idea of making a documentary film of my reunion with former high school classmates that I have not seen since I left the city twenty years ago. Is time travel, a return to a no longer familiar place to me. As I am not living in the city where I grew up, I wonder where are these people and what they do, what dreams have been fulfilled and which have faded away. This period belongs to my private memory and goes back to a specific time, a turning point in my personal path. The following year I went to Lisbon to start a new cycle of studies at college and this group of friends from high school time was gradually fade off from my life. Some of them joined me on the way to study arts in Lisbon. Right now, the question about their lives makes me think about my career so far. I chose an iconic object as a reference the daily register, that used to be laid in the teacher's desk and it had on his opening page the passport photos of the classmates by which they made a call. This ritual invocation of the names aloud will be inspiring for the structure of my film and essay. Delivery on a trip to my personal memories of places and people, returning to the city where I was born and grew up, looking for the class of my 12th grade in the late eighties.
