Esta investigação procura reforçar o papel e a importância da paisagem como recurso
turístico, que é cada vez mais valorizado nos destinos.
Deste modo, esta investigação foca-se na importância da paisagem como um recurso
turístico e o seu impacto na motivação e preferência dos visitantes/turistas que visitam
a região Norte de Portugal.
Objetivo - Compreender as preferências do turista e a sua motivação relativamente à
paisagem como recurso turístico. No âmbito do estágio, será elaborado um roteiro de
miradouros na região Norte de Portugal.
Metodologia - A metodologia utilizada no decurso desta investigação é quantitativa com
base em inquéritos por questionário. A dimensão da amostra é de 302 participantes, que
visitaram a região Norte de Portugal entre os meses de março e julho de 2019. O objetivo
deste questionário é compreender as preferências do tipo de paisagem por parte dos
turistas para deste modo averiguar em que medida as suas características afetam a
escolha do destino e a motivação da visita. A formulação das hipóteses de investigação
baseia-se na relação entre os elementos e estética da paisagem rural e urbana com as
variáveis sociodemográficas dos inquiridos. Após a validação das hipóteses verifica-se
que há uma relação entre a frequência da visita a miradouros e a inclusão dos miradouros
no plano de viagem, o que suporta a pertinência deste estudo e da elaboração do roteiro.
Resultados - Os resultados demonstram que a preferência pelo tipo de paisagem incide
na “paisagem costeira”, seguido de “paisagem de montanha”; A Área Metropolitana do
Porto é visivelmente a mais visitada da região Norte, seguida do Douro. A maioria dos
inquiridos incluem os miradouros no seu plano de viagem, e revelam preferência pela
tipologia de miradouro “miradouros naturais”.
Limitações/Implicações – Foram observadas algumas limitações ao nível da revisão de
literatura e disponibilização de dados relativos aos miradouros da região Norte. Foram
sentidas dificuldades ao nível da aplicação de questionários, em virtude da sua extensão
e face à necessidade de aplicação em toda a região.
This research aims to emphasize the importance and function of the landscape as a tourism resource, increasingly valued in tourism destinations. In this sense, focuses on the importance of the landscape as a tourism resource and its impact on the motivation and preferences of the tourist in the northern region of Portugal as a tourism destination. Objective - The main aim of this study is to understand tourist preferences and their motivation regarding landscape as a tourist resource. As a proposal regarding the internship, this study also presents an itinerary of viewpoints in the North region of Portugal. Methodology - Methodology used in this study is quantitative and based on surveys supported with questionnaires. The sample size is 302 participants who have visited the North region of Portugal between March and July 2019. The aim of this questionnaire is to understand in what aspects the tourist preferences regarding landscape influence their visit and traveling purpose. The hypotheses of this study are based on the elements and aesthetics of both rural and urban landscape and their relationship with social demographic variables of the inquiries. After validating the hypothesis, it is notable that there is a relation between the frequency of viewpoint visit and the inclusion of viewpoints on the travel plan of visitors. This supports the importance of the itinerary created for this study. Results – The findings of this study demonstrate the preference about “coastal landscape”, followed by “mountain landscape”; also, Porto Metropolitan Area is notably the most visited region in the North of Portugal, followed by the Douro region. Most respondents agree that they usually include viewpoint in their journey plans, emphasizing “natural viewpoints”. Limitations/implications – This study identified some limitations regarding the literature review and availability of data related to the viewpoints of the Northern region. Difficulties were experienced regarding the application of questionnaires, due to its length and the need for application throughout the region.
