| dc.description.abstract | Esta dissertação apresenta uma investigação situada na convergência entre a pesquisa académica e a prática teatral, com o objetivo de questionar os mecanismos de opressão associados à velhice, ao mesmo tempo em que reconhece a força e a singularidade do envelhecimento feminino. A pesquisa visa compreender a senescência do corpo da mulher e valorizar suas contribuições culturais, sociais e simbólicas. Inspirado pela abordagem da Pesquisa Baseada em Artes, o estudo propõe a arte como meio legítimo de produção de conhecimento, capaz de traduzir dimensões subjetivas, afetivas e sensoriais da experiência humana. A metodologia fundamenta-se na escuta e no acolhimento, articulando práticas performativas e ritualísticas como campos férteis para a subversão de convenções e para a emergência do corpo envelhecido como presença discursiva e criadora. O delineamento teórico reúne autoras e autores que refletem criticamente sobre envelhecimento, memória e representação: Simone de Beauvoir, Michela Murgia, Ecléa Bosi, Paul Ricoeur e Aleida Assmann, além de pensadores que valorizam a tradição oral como forma legítima de conhecimento, como Jan Vansina e Julvan Moreira de Oliveira. O trabalho também dialoga com referências centrais no campo do teatro documental e ritualístico, como Erwin Piscator, Bertolt Brecht, Augusto Boal, Antonin Artaud, Richard Schechner, Victor Turner, Patrice Pavis e Hans-Thies Lehmann. A investigação culmina na criação e encenação de Sa(N)tã: Uma Vida em Delírio ou a Tentativa de Não Esquecer, um projeto teatral com abordagem ritual. A partir de relatos de mulheres idosas e cuidadoras, a cena se constrói como espaço de resistência, escuta e transmissão intergeracional. A dissertação reafirma, assim, a potência do teatro como dispositivo político, ético e poético, capaz de resgatar vozes, ativar memórias e romper com os silenciamentos impostos ao corpo feminino envelhecido. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation presents a research project developed at the intersection of academic inquiry and theatrical practice. It aims to question the mechanisms of oppression associated with aging, while recognizing the strength and uniqueness of the female aging experience. The study seeks to understand the senescence of the female body and to highlight its cultural, social, and symbolic contributions. Rooted in Arts-Based Research (ABR), the investigation embraces artistic creation as a valid mode of knowledge production, capable of expressing the affective, subjective, and sensory dimensions of human experience. The methodology is grounded in attentive listening and care, intertwining ritualistic and performative practices as fertile ground for subverting norms and affirming the aging female body as a discursive and creative presence. The theoretical framework draws from authors who critically engage with aging, memory, and representation—such as Simone de Beauvoir, Michela Murgia, Ecléa Bosi, Paul Ricoeur, and Aleida Assmann—as well as scholars like Jan Vansina and Julvan Moreira de Oliveira, who affirm oral tradition as a legitimate form of knowledge. The research also engages with key voices in documentary and ritual theater, including Erwin Piscator, Bertolt Brecht, Augusto Boal, Antonin Artaud, Richard Schechner, Victor Turner, Patrice Pavis, and Hans-Thies Lehmann. The research culminates in the creation and staging of Sa(N)tã: A Life in Delirium or the Attempt Not to Forget, a documentary performance with a ritualistic approach. Based on testimonies from elderly women and caregivers, the performance becomes a space of resistance, intergenerational transmission, and political visibility. This dissertation thus affirms the potential of theater as a poetic, ethical, and political tool to reclaim silenced voices, activate collective memory, and challenge the social silencing of the aging female body. | eng |
