Considerando que a comunicação deve ser eficaz, eficiente e ágil, objetivou-se analisar, no presente estudo, a importância da comunicação escrita para o desenvolvimento e na manutenção da identidade e da imagem institucional, avaliando as deficiências e necessidades específicas do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Triângulo Mineiro - IFTM a esse respeito. Para tanto, foi realizada análise de conteúdo dos documentos emitidos pelo IFTM e interpretação de questionário aplicado aos funcionários responsáveis pela emissão de correspondência oficial, com base em levantamentos bibliográficos a respeito do tema estudado. Observaram-se grandes divergências quanto à formatação e à redação dos documentos; documentos em que os princípios de redação oficial constantes do Manual de Redação da Presidência da República não são seguidos. Em respostas dadas ao questionário, os funcionários demonstraram falta de qualificação e de conhecimento sobre redação de documentos oficiais, julgando necessário, nesse passo, exato norteamento para padronização dos mesmos. É de fundamental importância para o desenvolvimento e manutenção da identidade e da imagem institucional que haja correta e padronizada a comunicação escrita. Há nos documentos oficiais do IFTM inúmeras incoerências em relação à forma de redação, assim como, insipiência dos servidores em relação ao tema, reforçando a necessidade de padronização das correspondências oficiais. A produção do Manual de Redação Oficial do IFTM culmina em benefícios à comunidade interna, à rotina dos servidores e à imagem da instituição.
Considering that the communication should be effective, efficient and agile, the objective was to analyze the importance of written communication in the development and maintenance of identity and institutional image, assessing the deficiencies and specific needs of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the Triangulo Mineiro – IFTM, in this regard. For that, a content analysis of the documents issued by the IFTM and the interpretation of a questionnaire applied to officials responsible for issuing official correspondence were carried out, based on bibliographical surveys on the subject studied. There were major differences in the form and wording of the documents, and the principles of the official wording contained in the Presidency of the Republic's Handbook of Writing are not followed. In the answers given to the questionnaire, the employees showed lack of qualification and knowledge about the drafting of official documents, and that they consider necessary a guide for their standardization. It is of fundamental importance for the development and maintenance of identity and institutional image that there is correct and standardized written communication. In the official IFTM documents there are numerous inconsistencies in the way of writing, as well as ignorance of the servers in relation to the topic, reinforcing the need for standardization of official correspondence. The production of the Official IFTM Writing Manual culminates in benefits to the internal community, the routine of the servers and the image of the institution.
