A passagem da imagem à palavra, mais propriamente a atividade ecfrástica é, nesta dissertação, analisada entre as obras El Jinete Polaco e The Polish Rider.
Após a leitura da obra e a observação/interpretação do quadro foi possível identificar diversos elementos que relacionam as obras. Chega-se assim a um dos objetivos deste estudo, encontrar elementos ecfrásticos entre as obras. Num segundo patamar faz-se a análise e compreensão como estes elementos podem ser interpretados e se relacionam.
Este trabalho assenta numa metodologia dedutiva e na pesquisa documental, assim a investigação avança com recurso a artigos especializados das áreas em estudo, teses académicas e livros de autores reconhecidos pela comunidade de estudo da linguística e tradução.
O autor da obra El Jinete Polaco baseou a obra no quadro de Rembrandt e isso é algo a ter em conta uma vez que a imagem é exaltada por diversas vezes durante a narrativa, não só através do quadro mas também da fotografia.
Desta forma, podemos afirmar que esta análise constrói ou desvenda a ponte de intersemiose existente entre as obras, dando azo às interpretações mais à frente apresentadas.
The passage of an image to word, more specifically the ekphrastic activity is, in this dissertation, analysed between the novel El Jinete Polaco and the painting The Polish Rider. After reading the novel and observing/ interpreting the painting it was possible to identify several elements that relate the artworks. Thus, one of the objectives of this study is to find ekphrastic elements among the book and painting. On a second level, appears the analyse and comprehension of how these elements can be interpreted and related. A deductive methodology and documentary research were the basis for the development of this paper and as research advances it is based on specialized articles from the areas under study, academic theses and books by authors recognized by the linguistic and translation study community. The author of the book El Jinete Polaco based his work on Rembrandt's painting and this is something to keep in mind since the image is exalted several times during the narrative, not only through the painting but also through photography. Thus, we can affirm that this analysis builds or unveils the intersemiosis bridge existing between the artworks, providing diverse interpretations as presented below.
