Abstract(s)
Neste trabalho, será possível perceber o impacto da
instabilidade política e da insegurança no turismo na região da
Catalunha. No decurso do mesmo, este tema irá ser aprofundado
com a apresentação de dados que demonstram que a instabilidade
política vivida na Catalunha nos últimos anos, aliado a alguns
atentados na cidade de Barcelona, levaram ao decréscimo do número
de turistas e ao desvio de grandes massas de grupos para outros
destinos concorrentes no sul da Europa.
Esta crise turística sentida na região foi, obviamente,
sentida no Hotel Arts e levou a uma perda de receita
significante. Durante o estágio, foram explicadas as medidas
adotadas para inverter esta situação e planos para evitar a
repetição destes episódios. Estas medidas e planos postos em
vigor irão ser apresentados no decorrer deste trabalho e, junto
com alguns valores exemplificativos, irá ser demonstrada a
importância destes mesmos planos.
De modo a analisar o impacto desta instabilidade política,
recorreu-se à análise de artigos científicos e de publicações
que demonstram os problemas e as estratégias para contrariar a
crise sentida na região. Também através de dados específicos do
hotel Arts, iremos poder perceber o impacto que esta crise teve
em hotéis 5 estrelas de Barcelona e os níveis de receita perdida
nos meses seguintes ao início da instabilidade política.
Após esta análise, tanto a nível da região como a nível
interno do hotel Arts, irão ser apresentados valores que
demonstram o impacto que a crise política teve na receita da
região da Catalunha. Seguidamente, apresentar-se-ão várias
estratégias que foram adotadas e também ideias apresentadas que
levariam a um melhor planeamento e prevenção em caso de nova
instabilidade política na região.
Para melhor compreensão desta problemática e de forma a
complementar esta análise, foi realizada a comparação com crises
turísticas sentidas em outros países como no Egito e na Turquia.
É feita uma apresentação da situação vivida na região e o impacto
que a crise turística teve nos países em análise.
Neste relatório, é apresentado um resumo das várias tarefas
diárias e semanais que foram confiadas ao estudante durante o
estágio. Irão também ser abordadas as funções, objetivos,
entraves e soluções sentidas ao longo do percurso. No decorrer
deste estágio, foi possível descobrir e analisar pontos fortes
e pontos fracos no departamento de vendas de grupos do Hotel
Arts. Durante o percurso no hotel, foi também dada a oportunidade
de conhecer outros departamentos e a sua funcionalidade e
importância no sucesso da empresa. Neste trabalho, é exposta
também a facilidade e oportunidade que o hotel dá, a todos os
seus colaboradores e estagiários, de trabalhar em várias equipas
diferentes e perceber a dinâmica de vários departamentos.
During this dissertation, we were able to understand the impact that political instability and insecurity have in tourism, in Catalunya region. Hereby, we will analyze in-depth this theme with the presentation of data that shows that the political instability felt in Catalunya over the last few years, together with the terrorist attacks in Barcelona, have lead to a decrease of tourists coming to Barcelona and the deviation of mass tourism to other competitor destinations in Southern Europe. This crisis felt in the region was, without a doubt, felt at Hotel Arts and lead to a significant revenue loss. During this internship, we were explained the measures adopted to reverse the situation and the plans taken to avoid a new situation like this. These plans and measures that were implemented will be presented in the course of the present study and, herewith some indicative data, it will be shown the importance of such measures. In order to understand the impact of this political instability, we were able to analyze some articles and publishments, where they explain the problems of the crisis and some strategies that were adopted to overcome the crisis in Catalunya. Also recurring to data provided by hotel Arts, we will understand the impact that this crisis had in 5 star hotels and the profit loss that the region had, right after the beginning of the political instability. After this analysis, data and values will be provided in order to present the impact that this crisis had on profit loss, either in the region of Catalunya and at hotel Arts. Thereupon, a few strategies adopted by the tourism entities will be presented and some ideas that would lead to a better planning and loss prevention, in case of a new crisis, will be introduced. In order to better understand this situation and to complement this analysis, a comparison was made with other political and touristic crisis in countries like Egypt and Turkey. A presentation of the whole crisis will be made, along with its consequences, actions taken to overcome those crisis and some additional ideas that should be adopted to avoid a new crisis as the one felt before. In this study, a summary of daily and weekly tasks that were assigned during the internship is presented. Hereby, we will also be able to know the functions, goals, obstacles and solutions felt and taken over the internship. In the course of the past 6 (six) months, it was possible to discover and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the Sales Department at Hotel Arts. During this internship, it was also given the opportunity to know and experience other departments that are very important to the company’s success, through voluntary work to every employees and interns.
