Adaptação cultural e propriedades psicométricas do International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Female Sexual Matters Associated with Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Module (ICIQ-FLUTSsex) na população feminina portuguesa, com sintomas do trato urinário inferior

A disfunção sexual feminina coexiste frequentemente com disfunções do trato urinário inferior (TUI), que impacta negativamente a função sexual, resultando na diminuição do desejo, da satisfação sexual e de perturbações emocionais. Seria pertinente avaliar adequadamente esta condição, com instrumentos validados para a população portuguesa. Traduzir, adaptar o International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Female Sexual Matters Associated with Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (ICIQ-FLUTSsex) para português europeu, analisando as propriedades psicométricas. Foram recrutadas 108 mulheres portuguesas, maiores de idade, com sintomas do TUI. A tradução e adaptação transcultural incluíram tradução, síntese, retrotradução, revisão de peritos e teste piloto. As propriedades psicométricas analisadas foram a fiabilidade, pelo alpha de cronbach, coeficiente de correlação intraclasse (CCI), Erro Padrão de Medida (EPM) e Mudança Mínima Detetável (MMD), a validade através do coeficiente de correlação de Spearman com o Índice de Funcionamento Sexual Feminino-6 (IFSF-6). Boa consistência interna (0,79 e 0,87), excelente reprodutibilidade (CCI=0,93, p<0,001), EPM=0,72 e MMD=2,01. Validade com correlações negativas fortes e significativas entre as pontuações totais dos questionários ICIQ-FLUTSsex e o IFSF-6 (-0,51, p<0,01). A versão portuguesa do ICIQ-FLUTSsex apresentou fiabilidade e validade na população portuguesa, sendo adequada a sua utilização para estudos de investigação e prática clínica.
Female sexual dysfunction often coexists with lower urinary tract (LUT) dysfunction, which negatively impacts sexual function, resulting in decreased desire, sexual satisfaction, and emotional disturbances. It would be pertinent to adequately assess this condition using instruments validated for the Portuguese population. To translate and adapt the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Female Sexual Matters Associated with Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (ICIQ-FLUTSsex) into European Portuguese and analyze its psychometric properties. 108 Portuguese women of legal age with LUTS symptoms were recruited. The translation and cross-cultural adaptation included translation, synthesis, back-translation, expert review, and pilot testing. The psychometric properties analyzed were reliability, using Cronbach's alpha, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), Standard Error of Measurement (SEM), and Minimum Detectable Change (MDC), and validity using Spearman's correlation coefficient with the Female Sexual Functioning Index-6 (FSFI-6). Good internal consistency (0.79 and 0.87), excellent reproducibility (ICC=0.93, p<0.001), SEM=0.72, and MMD=2.01. Validity with strong and significant negative correlations between the total scores of the ICIQ-FLUTSsex and IFSF-6 questionnaires (-0.51, p<0.01). The Portuguese version of the ICIQ-FLUTSsex proved to be reliable and valid in the Portuguese population, making it suitable for use in research studies and clinical practice.
