O presente ensaio procura desmistificar o processo de conceptualização de um espaço cinematográfico singular, alicerçado numa dimensão onírica da construção de ambientes visuais.
Numa abordagem inicial, exploram-se os fundamentos teóricos relacionados com o onírico, enquanto conceito, articulando-os com o estudo de caso de dois exemplos paradigmáticos do cinema de distopias. Conclui-se o enquadramento teórico com a alusão ao
movimento minimalista no cinema, e o processo através do qual se enquadra na definição estética da premissa visual do filme em estudo.
O segundo momento do ensaio contempla uma análise empírica do trabalho desenvolvido pelo diretor de fotografia na curta-metragem Umbral, explorando os meandros da materialização desta mesma paisagem cinematográfica singular, o ambiente de simulação da
maquina "Umbral".
The following essay aims to demystify the process of conceptualizing a cinematographic space with singular attributes, based on this oneiric dimension in building visual environments. On an initial approach one explores the theoretical foundations related to the oneiric, as a term, articulating it with the case study of two elementary examples of dystopian cinema, along with the process by which they fit the aesthetic definition of the film's visual premise. A second moment will contemplate an empirical analysis of the work developed by the director of photography of the shortiilm Umbral, exploring the means for the materialization of this same cinematographic scenery - the “Umbral" machine's simulation space.
