Abstract(s)
This master’s project analyses the potential of the city of Porto as a bleisure destination, understood as the combination of business travel with leisure experiences. The study stems from the growing relevance of this segment in urban tourism, driven by digitalization, flexible working models, and the demand for authentic and sustainable experiences. This project aims to promote the innovation and competitiveness of Porto as a tourist destination by identifying gaps in the existing tourism offer and formulating proposals for the development of innovative and sustainable tour packages, based on the perceptions of local stakeholders. To this end, a qualitative methodology was applied, through semi-structured interviews with representatives of public entities, hotels, and tourism companies. The results reveal the degree of familiarity of tourism agents with the bleisure concept, the strengths and limitations of the city, as well as strategies and recommendations for building a more integrated and innovative offer. The findings show that Porto has favorable structural and cultural conditions for the consolidation of bleisure, but still faces challenges related to coordination among stakeholders, fragmented supply, and the adaptation of experiences to the new demands of the market. This research therefore contributes to the definition of business practices and public policies that reinforce the attractiveness, sustainability, and competitiveness of the destination.
