Abstract(s)
Today's society increasingly demands quality formation, achieved through a personalized teaching, that has an impact on improving the level of learning. For this, the well-being of the entire educational community is important, strongly provided by the physical conditions and material resources. Considering such classrooms, a question arises: How does the quality and organization of physical spaces in classrooms influence learning processes? To answer this question, we chose a qualitative and quantitative case study, developed in two schools of a grouping of schools located on the northern coast of Portugal. The participants of the study were the director of the grouping of schools, the teachers of the 1st cycle and the students of the 3rd and 4th year, of the referred schools. For the data collection, a half-structured interview and questionnaire surveys were used. After analysing the results obtained, the two schools themselves, despite having been changed, continued to have aspects related to the physical spaces requiring improvements. Such aspects are listed in the action plan prepared within the scope of the present project. It is intended, with the necessary collaboration of the competent authorities, to improve the physical conditions of these schools, undoubtedly important and impacting the new teaching methodology, that promote quality education for all students, in order to be more appreciable, participatory and effective.
