- A memória na sustentabilidade do turismo - o caso do projeto A Rota do PescadorPublication . Martins, Susana; Carvalho, MilenaA Rota do Pescador é um reflexo da colaboração interinstitucional entre o Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto e a Junta de Freguesia de Vila do Conde, desenvolvida no âmbito de um projeto de turismo sustentável, baseado na maior comunidade piscatória do País: Poça da Barca e Caxinas. Objetiva a salvaguarda de património cultural e imaterial, promovendo a transferência de conhecimento a partir das competências do profissional da informação adquiridas na Licenciatura em Ciências e Tecnologias da Documentação e Informação. Através da aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas e da análise documental de elementos do acervo da biblioteca e do arquivo municipal, realizou-se o levantamento do património informacional, de cariz etnográfico, cultural, religioso, arquitetónico, ligado à construção naval e ao espólio piscatório, de indumentária e gastronomia. Os resultados são: a criação do logotipo do projeto; a criação de merchandising e de um glossário do típico linguarejar caxineiro; a delineação de uma pequena rota pedonal; a criação de uma página de Facebook e a recriação de certas tradições comunitárias. O projeto assume-se como um modelo de grande importância no desenvolvimento sustentável baseado em iniciativas turísticas, valorizando as tradições e a memória, preservando o património informacional ligado à atividade piscatória daquelas comunidades.
- Mobile tourist recommendation Ssystem for Metro do PortoPublication . Martins, Susana; Carvalho, Milena; Rodrigues, JulianaThe metro is a means of transportation valued by tourists visiting the city of Porto. This project focuses on heritage as a resource to be valued and potentially differentiating resource for Metro do Porto. It is important to highlight the role of the information professional who, using information and communication technologies, can act in areas that are based on informational heritage. A mobile recommendation system was created that would convey to its user’s information about the heritage of touristic and cultural interest that can be found nearby the metro stations. The project presupposed the analysis of all metro lines and stops; identification and description of points of touristic interest; determining the area of influence of each stop; creating categories to aggregate different points of interest; comparative study of online platforms to create the app.
- Lean thinking and tourism management – an Airbnb case study in DouroPublication . Especially Cultural and Tourist Organizations can and should adopt tools and methodologies that al-low them to increase their productivity and guarantee their sustaina-bility, in order to increase their competitive advantage over the com-petition. That is why Lean and Six Sigma play a key role in the man-agement of these organizations. Thus, the objective of this article is to present a brief literature review on the topic Lean Six Sigma in Tourism, with the primary objective of analyzing the importance of this concept in Airbnb in Douro – Lamego. Thus, all analyzes re-vealed that this topic is a very interesting subject, as it is complex and important in the performance and survival of these organizations. In short, any type of organization that is concerned with accompanying the evolution of society considered an organization more prepared for the future, guaranteeing its sustainability, thus increasing the quality of the services provided. In this way, we will be avoiding waste and creating value.
- The Fisherman's Route - Project of sustainability and pedagogical practicesPublication . Carvalho, Milena; Martins, Susana; Santos, Eleonora; Carvalho, Ana Brancahe Fisherman's Route is a collaborative project implemented through training and pedagogical innovation and the integration of final year students from LCTDI (ISCAP-P.Porto) in the curricular unit of Internship for the application of the skills of the Information Professional (IP) for the 21st century. Informational heritage makes it possible to create and enrich tourist activities based on local culture, promoting sustainable and local economic development, as well as safeguarding heritage, through the transfer of knowledge from the IP skills acquired at LCTDI. Through semi-structured interviews with members of the fishing communities of Caxinas and Poça da Barca and the analysis of documents, a survey of the informational heritage linked to fishing practices was carried out. The results of the project are presented, which is assumed as a model for local development, valuing traditions and preserving the informational heritage linked to the fishing activity. The importance of the competences that the IP holds in different work realities is inferred.
- Informational heritage, sustainable Development and tourism: the Urban Route of the Fisherman’s ProjectPublication . Martins, Susana; Carvalho, Milena; Castro, Maria João; Gonçalves, BeatrizThe Fisherman’s Route reflects the interinstitutional collaboration between the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto and the Parish Council of Vila do Conde, developed as part of a sustainable tourism project based on the largest fishing community in the Country: Poça da Barca and Caxinas. It aims to safeguard cultural and immaterial heritage, promoting the transfer of knowledge using the skills of the information professional acquired in the degree in Sciences and Technologies of Documentation and Information. Through the application of semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis, the identification of the relevant information was carried out, regarding informational heritage, ethnographic, cultural, religious, architectural, related to shipbuilding and the clothing and gastronomy. The results are: the creation of the project logo; the creation of merchandising and a glossary of the typical language of the caxineiro; the outline of a small pedestrian route; the creation of a Facebook page and the re-creation of certain community traditions as well as an online portal and an app designed for tourists. The project assumes itself as a model of great importance in the sustainable development based on tourist initiatives, valuing the traditions and the memory, preserving the informational heritage connected to the fishing activity of those communities.
