Abstract(s)
A presente monografia teve como objectivo empreender uma abordagem sistemática e historicamente fundamentada à ornamentação na música para alaúde do compositor Silvius Leopold Weiss. Para tal foram seleccionadas fontes do século XVII e XVIII que de algum modo se debruçassem sobre esta questão: métodos, tratados, livros de música e manuscritos para alaúde e o Essay d’une methode pour aprendre a jouer de la flute traversiere de Johann Joachim Quantz. Após a recensão das referidas fontes foi feito um estudo de caso, aplicando a informação assim recolhida e organizada a uma obra específica de Weiss : a Sarabande S-C 5/V.
The aim of this study was to undertake a systematic and historically supported approach to ornamentation in the lute music of Silvius Leopold Weiss. In order to do this, sources from the 17th and 18th century, which in some way focused on this matter, were selected: lute handbooks and manuscripts, and Joahann Joachim Quantz’s Essay d’une methode pour aprendre a jouer de la flute traversiere. After appraisal of the aforementioned sources, a case study was undertaken in an attempt to apply to a specific work by Weiss, Sarabande S-C 5/V, the information thus obtained.
