Abstract(s)
The performance of an occupational risk assessment is based on a systematic and detailed analysis of workplaces in order to identify the hazards, and quantify the magnitude of the risks to which the worker is exposed. To carry out an occupational risk assessment in a family health unit in the northern region and to characterise and identify the hazards and occupational risks of workplaces. The MARAT method was used to assess occupational risks. The main sources of danger identified in the USF were: the existence of electrical wires scattered throughout the various workstations, the existence of humidity in all walls of the building, lack of proper maintenance of the HVAC system, poor cleaning conditions in the clinical desks' offices, absence of firefighting equipment, absence of signage and internal safety and emergency plan. The risk assessment allows us to conclude that the health unit needs to improve its working conditions, namely by: equipping the building with fire-fighting equipment; preparing an internal safety programme; repairing the HVAC system and eliminating humidity in walls and ceilings. Implementation: It is the employer's responsibility to correct the identified risk factors in order to guarantee safety conditions.
