Resumo(s)

As part of the writing of the Dissertation for the Master’s Degree in Biochemistry in Health with specialization in the Biotechnology, that was carried out in the academic year 2021/2022, under the guidance of doctor Virgínia Fernandes, from the Chemical reaction and Analysis Group, located at Instituto Superiot of Engineering in Porto. The main theme of the work addresses the impact that bees and honey have on human life, as well as emerging contaminants and polluents that are being studied scientifically. In addition, the possibility of honey being as environmental biomarker was studied, and how we can use it to monitor the environment and the contaminants that can interfere with daily life. For this, 17 samples of honey from the Parque Natural do montesinho, and 3 commercial samples were analyzed. The methodology used consisted in the use of QuEChERS and cleanup dSPE for the extration, and the anlysis by Gc-ECD and GC-FPD. Regarding the results, 14 of the 40 pollutants from the diferente families tested were identified, and all honey samples had at least one pesticide and/or environmental contaminant in their constituion. Finally, through the calibration lines it was possible to determinate the concentrtion of these pollutants
