A perspectiva da educação profissional na fronteira sul do Brasil diante do problema do abandono escolar

Abstract

O presente estudo apresenta uma análise do fenômeno da evasão escolar ocorrida na turma do Curso Técnico de Informática binacional do Instituto Federal Farroupilha, ofertado a alunos brasileiros e uruguaios no Centro de Referência de Quaraí/RS, no período compreendido entre 2015 e 2017, na modalidade subsequente. Esta pesquisa justifica-se pela característica singular do tema evasão escolar apresentado nesta instituição, por ter havido a desistência de todos os alunos brasileiros, em contraste com os alunos uruguaios que permaneceram até o término do curso, considerando que foi ofertado o mesmo número de vagas para ambas nacionalidades. Utilizando a metodologia qualitativa, esta pesquisa foi conduzida através de estudo de caso. Entre os instrumentos de coleta de dados, foram utilizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas, consulta bibliográfica e documental. A revisão teórica discutida ao longo deste trabalho delineia-se na compreensão das relações do sujeito adulto, na relação entre o trabalho e a educação técnica binacional na fronteira sul face à evasão escolar. Também discorre sobre as motivações causadoras do fenômeno da evasão, revelando que estas estão direcionadas por questões internas e externas à instituição, em que se destaca o desconhecimento sobre a área de formação, logo, a não identificação do curso, a pouca demanda local na área de formação, a falta de capacitação docente, a localização da instituição e os recursos humanos insuficientes. Considera-se, entretanto, a necessidade de ampliação da discussão sobre o tema apresentado na busca de nortear planos e ações com forte atuação para a permanência e êxito do aluno na educação binacional.

This study presents an analysis of the school dropout phenomenon which happened in the period between 2015 and 2017, in the class of the binational post-high school Technical Degree in Information Technology at the Farroupilha Federal Institute. The course is offered to Brazilian and Uruguayan students at the Reference Center in Quaraí/RS. This research is justified due to the fact that the dropout rates in this institution are peculiar: while all of the Brazilian students dropped out, the Uruguayans remained until the conclusion of the course. It should be considered that both nationalities had the same quantity of admissions. The investigation was conducted through a qualitative analysis of a case study. The data was collected through bibliographical and documental researches as well as semi-structured interviews. The theoretical background used throughout the investigation considers the adult subject relations in the relationship between work and the binational technical education in the south border when it comes to school dropout. It also discusses the motivations for the dropout phenomenon in the institution which reveal that they are caused by both internal and external issues. The most relevant is the ignorance about the field of study. Also, the little local demand in the field of study, lack of teacher formation and human resources, and the location of the institution are questions which interfere with the dropout rate. Nevertheless, this research considers it relevant to expand the debate over this topic in order to delineate plans and actions that contribute to the student’s conclusion and success in the course in such binational education.
