Abstract(s)
This work was carried out in the context of the Music Education Master’s, with a specialization in Violin, at ESMAE/ESE (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo/Escola Superior de Educação) in the school year 2019/2020. This work is part of the Supervised Teaching Practice Report, held at Conservatório de Música do Porto, presenting the description of the supervised teaching practice, characterisation and contextualisation of the school where it took place, being inherent the planning and observations of the classes as well as the respective reflection. As a third chapter it is presented the intervention project "The importance of the guided practice in Basic Violin Education - a case study". This study was developed and applied in the context of the Methodology and Didactics of Instrument II. The learning of a musical instrument is a slow, gradual, complex task with high mental and physical demands. In the younger students, the role of the teacher will be preponderant to assist in individual practice, planning, organization and evaluation/reflection of their study or individual practice, performed between classes. Through the case study methodology, the aim is to understand the importance that the orientated practice by the teachers acquires in basic violin education, how the students react in performative terms to the intervention, orientation, follow-up of their individual practice of the instrument. Once this intervention has been outlined and applied, it will be evaluated through the analysis of the data obtained.
