No âmbito do Mestrado em Artes e Tecnologia do Som, surge como projeto de investigação a instalação sonora "RIZOMA", um trabalho com cunho artístico e exploratório que tem como objetivo compreender a forma como o ser humano se relaciona com o som, mais especificamente, saber se é influenciado por ele, e de que forma pode essa influência atuar nas suas tomadas de decisão. A instalação sonora "RIZOMA" propõe investigar, a partir de um percurso, a relação do ser humano com os sons de um ambiente, bem como sensibilizar para a perceção da escassez dos recursos naturais e para a relação do ser humano com os mesmos, através da articulação entre as paisagens sonoras naturais, floresta (“wood”) e rio (“flow”) com as paisagens sonoras que refletem ações humanas. A instalação convida, assim, o indivíduo a escolher, através de uma escuta ativa, um percurso a partir dos estímulos sonoros que lhe chegam.
Within the scope of the Master’s Degree in Sound Arts and Technology, the sound installation “RIZOMA” emerges as a research project — an artistic and exploratory work aimed at understanding how human beings are related to sound, more specifically, whether they are influenced by it and how this influence can affect their decision-making. The sound installation “RIZOMA” seeks to investigate the relationship between human beings and sounds of an environment through a guided path, as well as to raise awareness of the scarcity of natural resources and of the relationship between humans and the latter. This is achieved through the interplay between natural soundscapes — forest (“wood”) and river (flow) — and the soundscapes that reflect human actions. The installation invites individuals to choose a route based on the sonic stimuli they perceive through active listening.
