The growing internationalization of the events sector has led to an increasing need to understand how cultural differences influence their planning, execution, and success. Local culture therefore plays a crucial role in how events are perceived and experienced by the public, directly affecting their relevance, authenticity, and sustainability. International events are increasingly recognized as drivers of economic, touristic, and cultural development for host cities, contributing to territorial projection and the enhancement of local identity. However, expanding such events to new locations requires adaptation to different values, customs, and cultural practices, making cultural adaptation a decisive factor for organizational success and audience engagement. In this context, the present study aims to analyze how cultural adaptation in the organization of international events influences event success and enhances economic and strategic benefits for host cities. The research employed a mixed-method approach, combining a questionnaire applied to event participants with in-depth interviews conducted with industry professionals. This methodological combination enabled the connection between audience perceptions and the perspectives of key organizational stakeholders. The results demonstrate that a positive cultural impact significantly influences participants’ personal experiences, confirming the research hypothesis. Simultaneously, the interviews revealed that the integration of local cultural elements, such as artists, gastronomy, communication, and partnerships, reinforces authenticity, audience engagement, and the economic return for host cities. Thus, the study “The Influence of Local Culture on the Organization of International Events” concludes that cultural adaptation represents not only a gesture of respect and appreciation for local identity but also a fundamental strategy to ensure the success and sustainability of international events and the destinations that host them.
