Abstract(s)
desigualdades no acesso à web.
E-commerce has highly become a preference of Portuguese society when it comes to making their purchases, which it also reflects on an increase of difficulties using the web. People with disabilities, mostly visually impaired, still face many barriers accessing e-commerce. Although the implementation of legislated accessibility guidelines, the problem tends to reside in usability flaws. This fact is verified by the lack of inclusion of visually impaired users, not only during (usability) tests, but also during the development process of these projects. This dissertation foremost seeks to present a set of usability guidelines to consider when creating inclusive e-commerce platforms. Therefore, the investigation that will occur throughout this work will allow us to identify barriers and, through the analysis and discussion of the problems, to develop a set of guidelines that seeks the increase of usability to visually impaired users in ecommerce platforms, whether mobile or web. To support the results, a prototype will be developed to visually attend the guidelines, whose process will pass through low, medium, and high-fidelity prototyping. Additionally, an e-book will be prepared and it compiles the main conclusions, the guidelines, and its visual component. This element will allow us to share these principles with designers and companies that want to increase their focus on usability and accessibility. It will also be possible to be more aware of visual impairment and create more opportunities to discuss inclusivity.
