Abstract(s)
What do you want to be when you grow up? - The sentence that follow us as we grow old and makes us think about the choices and direction we want to take in our lives. Many of the jobs that we choose are no longer the same that existed years ago. The society and the work world are no longer the same and labour requirements have also changed and the skills required have changed. School, as always, plays one of the most important roles in the development of students on a personal and social level, including as future workers. Is the school up to the new challenges of the work's world and, consequently, is it providing students the tools to develop the skills required by today's world of work? The exploration of the literature took us from the definition of work, through the definition of competence, to exploring how school and the work market have been related. We focused on creativity as a competence, trying to understand where to start? In search of creativity, taking into account the relationship between school and the world of work. So, we interviewed a teacher and a human resources management specialist, looking for two visions of creativity in two different contexts: those who work with students in the classroom and those who welcome them as new employees in their company. Based on the interviews and the content covered in the theoretical context, an action plan was drawn up, with the general aims of helping the students to know themselves (their strengths and weaknesses), including their areas of interest and also vocational areas, and checking what knowledge the students have about the work market and what their main doubts are.
