| dc.description.abstract | This manual has been developed with the aim of disseminating foundational knowledge on Public Speaking (PS), as well as equipping future professionals with the necessary skills to communicate effectively in a variety of everyday academic and professional contexts. In contemporary society, both within organisational settings and in personal interactions, it is increasingly necessary to articulate ideas, convey messages, and present projects in a coherent and persuasive manner. Effective communication requires adherence to certain principles, coupled with creative strategies that ensure clarity and impact. The nature of the audience ultimately dictates the appropriate timing, content, and form of communication. Nevertheless, PS remains a source of discomfort for many individuals, whether the purpose is to inform, coordinate, persuade, or argue convincingly, based on truthful and logical reasoning. Fortunately, a range of techniques and strategies can be acquired to overcome such discomfort and to enhance one’s communicative competence.
