Trabalho apresentado no âmbito de obtenção do título de especialista na área científica de Terapia e Reabilitação - Osteopatia, nos termos do projeto lei DL206/2009 de 31 de agosto.
As “técnicas gerais” apresentadas por William Garner Sutherland, ou “Técnicas Articulares Osteopáticas de W.G. Sutherland D.O.” (TAS), são uma mais-valia especialmente nas situações agudas ou em pacientes idosos ou debilitados. Ao executarmos as TAS tal como são apresentadas, concluímos que são complexas na sua aplicação. Como tal, apresentamos uma adaptação das mesmas em que tentámos torná-las mais práticas e atraentes na sua execução.
The "general techniques" presented by William Garner Sutherland, or "Osteopathic Joint Techniques of W.G. Sutherland D.O." (JTS), are especially valuable in acute situations or in elderly or debilitated patients. When we carry out the JTS as they are presented, we realise that they are complex in their application. As such, we present an adaptation of them in which we have tried to make them more practical and attractive in their execution.
