Abstract(s)
Over time, the automotive industry has become an essential sector in society. Currently, the car plays a very important role in the world economy due to its growth and evolution. As such, the automotive industry faces a major challenge when it comes to meeting the needs of the market, as it has to constantly optimize in order to satisfy the needs of its customers, which relate to quality requirements and delivery times. This growth has meant that the industry needs mass production, so it has had to resort to new techniques related to automation and robotics to achieve its objectives. This work consists of developing the design of a semi-automatic component detection device to guarantee the quality of the final product and thus fulfil the customer's expectations. The aim is to design a semi-automatic device capable of detecting clips inserted in two parts obtained by plastic injection and supplied by the customer, which are the interior panels of car boot racks. The equipment must be equipped with two tools for the respective part types, fitted with immobilizing components so that the detection can be carried out successfully. The equipment must also have an integrated system that allows the detection system to move forwards and backwards. The results of this project were very positive, as the mechanical and automation design was completed, the equipment was successfully designed, and its operation was a source of satisfaction for the client, as all the requirements were met, both in terms of validating the process itself and in terms of the measured cycle time.
