O presente documento descreve e reflete criticamente sobre o Estágio Curricular realizado na Casa da Música do Porto, no âmbito do Mestrado em Cinema e Fotografia Especialização em Fotografia.
Através de uma abordagem teórico-prática, o trabalho visa explorar o papel da fotografia no contexto de uma instituição cultural de música, especificamente nas suas dimensões de documentação, comunicação visual e expressão artística.
A metodologia adotada combina uma investigação teórica sobre os conceitos de “sociedade de espetáculo” de Guy Debord, “lugar” e "não-lugar” de Marc Augé e o de “Espaço” de Michel de Certeau, com a reportagem fotográfica, a fotografia como espelho do real e questões éticas inerentes à prática fotográfica numa instituição cultural de música.
Esta dualidade resultou no desenvolvimento de um projeto autoral, denominado, “Entre Palcos e Silêncios”, que procura resgatar os espaços invisíveis e ocultos da Casa da Música, contrariando a lógica da visibilidade dominante.
Os resultados do estágio incluem a documentação de uma vasta diversidade de eventos (concertos, serviços educativos, ações promocionais), bem como a produção de conteúdos visuais para fins institucionais.
A fotografia, para além do seu carácter documental, pode ser uma ferramenta crítica e interpretativa, capaz de interrogar a estrutura simbólica das instituições culturais.
O estágio proporcionou uma experiência rica de aprendizagem e questionamento sobre o modo como as fotografias participam na construção das narrativas culturais.
This document describes and critically reflects on the internship completed at Casa da Música do Porto, as part of the Master's in Cinema and Photography - Specialization in Photography. Through a theoretical and practical approach, the work aims to explore the role of photography in the context of a music cultural institution, specifically in its dimensions of documentation, visual communication, and artistic expression. The adopted methodology combines theoretical investigation into concepts such as Guy Debord's "society of the spectacle," Marc Augé's "place" and "non-place," Michel de Certeau's "Space," with photographic reportage, the idea of photography as a mirror of reality, and ethical issues inherent to photographic practice in a music cultural institution. This duality resulted in the development of an original project, called "Between Stages and Silences," which seeks to reclaim the invisible and hidden spaces of Casa da Música, challenging the logic of dominant visibility. The internship's outcomes include documenting a wide range of events (concerts, educational services, promotional activities), as well as producing visual content for institutional purposes. Photography, beyond its documentary nature, can be a critical and interpretative tool, capable of interrogating the symbolic structure of cultural institutions. The internship provided a rich learning experience and exploration of how photographs contribute to the construction of cultural narratives.
