A presente dissertação centra-se nos elementos da música popular argentina na obra para piano de Alberto Ginastera. Este é considerado um dos compositores mais importantes do seu país. A sua música é profundamente inspirada nas civilizações antigas do mundo pré-colombiano e também na música tradicional argentina. Este trabalho concentra-se nas três sonatas para piano solo deste compositor, onde se faz a análise em termos harmónicos, rítmicos, formais e pianísticos. É também abordada a importância da música popular no discurso musical.
This dissertation focuses about the folk elements of Argentine music in Alberto Ginastera’s piano work. He is considered to be one of the most important composers in his country. His music is deeply inspired by the ancient civilizations of pre-Columbian world and also by Argentine traditional music. This work is based on the composer’s three piano sonatas, where an analysis of these pieces in harmonic, rhythmic, formal and pianistic manner is made. It also approaches the significance of folk music in the musical speech.
