Abstract(s)

This paper examines the importance of talent management in tourism and hospitality, focussing specifically on the effect of human capital management on business success. As it is a topic that is still relatively underexplored in the literature, a bibliometric analysis was conducted, guided by the following keywords: ‘Human Capital’, ‘Tourism’, ‘Hospitality’, and ‘Talent Management’. The scientific mapping of co-occurrences identifies contradictory perspectives and provides insights for future research, highlighting the most relevant dimensions for understanding this issue. The study of bibliometric indicators, along with the analysis of co-occurrences and their main connections, enabled the extraction of four clusters: ‘Talent Management’ (Cluster 1), ‘Management Practices’ (Cluster 2), ‘Business Sustainability’ (Cluster 3), and ‘Corporate Responsibility’ (Cluster 4). The data were processed using the VOSviewer software. Retaining talent in the hotel industry appears challenging, as the trend in talent management has shifted towards green talent management.
