The luxury hospitality sector has increasingly emphasised differentiated guest experiences, in which comfort, aesthetics, and environmental quality play a fundamental role. At the same time, growing awareness of inclusion and accessibility has highlighted the need to develop spaces capable of accommodating the physical and functional diversity of users. However, upholstered furniture in many luxury hotels continues to prioritize aesthetic criteria over the principles of universal accessibility. This research aims to examine how upholstered furniture design can reconcile accessibility requirements, comfort, and aesthetic sophistication within high-end hospitality environments. The study seeks to identify the main needs of users, including older adults, individuals with reduced mobility, and guests with diverse physical abilities, while also evaluating the formal and functional demands associated with luxury spaces. The methodology is based on a literature review covering Inclusive Design, Universal Design, ergonomics, and luxury hospitality, complemented by the analysis of case studies involving reference furniture pieces and hotel environments. Accessibility standards and guidelines, as well as recommendations related to comfort and user experience, will also be examined in order to establish design criteria applicable to the development of inclusive upholstered furniture solutions. The research is expected to contribute to the definition of design principles that promote inclusion without compromising the aesthetic quality and identity associated with the luxury sector. It aims to demonstrate that accessibility can serve as a value-enhancing factor for both the product and the hospitality experience, contributing to environments that are more comfortable, welcoming, and equitable for all users.
