Abstract(s)
Tendo em conta o atual contexto de crise no cinema em Portugal, este ensaio procura perceber as potencialidades da curta-metragem no relançamento de um cinema português que, embora de qualidade, tem dificuldade em entender a lógica industrial que lhe é intrínseca. Como estratégia, pretende-se fazer uma análise comparativa entre as curtas- metragens realizadas antes da crise económica (que justificou, em grande medida, o interregno da produção de cinema em Portugal) e aquelas realizadas durante o período de 2012 a 2014. O estudo será feito na perspetiva do assistente de realização que, ao fazer a ponte entre a realização e a produção de um filme, tem a correta perceção da obrigatória otimização dos custos da rodagem (o momento crítico no orçamento de um filme). Aspeto crucial, tendo em conta o esperado período de pós-crise, onde nada será como antes, em termos de valores e garantias de financiamento do cinema português. Por fim, em complemento ao ensaio, como parte integrante do trabalho de mestrado em comunicação audiovisual, será analisado o caso particular da função do assistente de realização na curta-metragem “A Rapariga que imaginou um conto”.
Given the current context of crisis in the Portuguese cinema, this thesis seeks to realise the potential of short film in the relaunch of a Portuguese cinema that, although with quality, has difficulty in understanding the industry logic intrinsic to it. As a strategy, we intend to make a comparative analysis of the short films made before the economic crisis (Which justified, in large measure, the interregnum of filmmaking in Portugal) and those carried out during the period of 2012 to 2014. A study will be done from the perspective of the assistant director, which by bridging the gap between directing and the production of a film, has the correct perception of the mandatory effort of optimising a shoot (the critical moment in a film budget). A crucial aspect, taking into account the expected post-crisis period, where nothing will be as before, in terms of values and financing guarantees for the Portuguese cinema. Finally, in addition to the main subject of this thesis for the Master in Audiovisual Communication, we will analyse the particular case of the short film "A rapariga que imaginou um conto".
