Abstract(s)
O setor do turismo está em constante evolução, essencialmente devido ao
desenvolvimento dos destinos e às preferências do turista. O setor tem apostado no
aproveitamento, rentabilização e dinamização de recursos existentes para promover os
destinos e, desta forma, afastar-se da ideia do turismo massificado. Atualmente, o turista
tem mostrado preferência por experiências mais personalizadas e autênticas, o que nos
remete para o surgimento de um novo tipo de turismo: o turismo criativo, um tipo de
turismo que tem por base a participação ativa dos turistas em atividades de
aprendizagem cultural do destino, conduzindo, recentemente, à cocriação de
experiências. Estas atividades têm por base conceitos como a autenticidade, criatividade
e memorabilidade e que se revelam fundamentais para a criação das experiências que
este novo turista procura.
Tendo como objeto de estudo o turismo criativo Vila Nova de Foz Côa, a
elaboração desta dissertação visa contribuir para a compreensão da evolução do
conceito de turismo criativo, bem como identificar as suas potencialidades e o seu
impacte nesta região. A escolha recaiu sobre Vila Nova de Foz Côa por se considerar que
esta região possui inúmeros recursos que se coadunam com a prática do turismo criativo.
Para uma análise mais aprofundada foi adotada uma metodologia do tipo
qualitativa, com a aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Posteriormente, recorreu-
se à técnica de análise de conteúdo para sintetizar e reduzir a quantidade de informação
recolhida, de forma a retirar as devidas conclusões do estudo em questão.
Os principais resultados desta investigação demonstram que o turismo criativo
em Vila Nova de Foz Côa ainda se encontra numa fase embrionária, e embora existam
interessados em desenvolver esta prática, é necessário melhorar a relação entre os
diversos stakeholders e o seu envolvimento na criação de iniciativas e produtos
associados a esta tipologia, bem como debater estratégias a implementar com vista ao
sucesso das iniciativas.

As a result, there has been a growing concern with promoting the use of existing resources and increasing profitability, particularly by encouraging diversity and creating local dynamics, moving beyond mass tourism. Currently, tourists have shown a preference for more personalized and authentic experiences, which brings us to the emergence of a new type of tourism: creative tourism. Creative tourism is based on the active participation of tourists in cultural learning activities at the destination, something that has paved the way to the co-creation of experiences. Focusing on creative tourism in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, this research aims to contribute to the understanding of the evolution of the concept of creative tourism, as well as to identify its potential and impact on this region. Vila Nova de Foz Côa has countless resources that are consistent with the practice of creative tourism. These activities are based on concepts such as authenticity, creativity, and memorability, crucial for the creation of the experiences that this new tourist seeks For a deeper approach to the topic, a qualitative methodology was adopted, with the application of semi-structured interviews. Subsequently, content analysis was used to synthesize and reduce the data collected, which were then crosscut to draw conclusions. The main results of this research show that creative tourism in Vila Nova de Foz Côa is still in an embrionary stage, and although there is interest in developing this practice, it is necessary to improve the relationship between the different stakeholders and their involvement in the creation of initiatives and products associated with this typology, as well as to discuss strategies to be implemented in order for the initiatives to be successful.
