A valorização do património cultural e a crescente indústria do turismo cultural tornaram-se os
aliados perfeitos para a promoção da coesão social.
Os museus, sendo espaços privilegiados de divulgação da cultura, estão a tornar-se cada vez
mais inclusivos e a audiodescrição permite que esse passo seja dado e que pessoas cegas ou com
baixa visão possam disfrutar de uma visita ao museu de forma autónoma.
O presente trabalho de projeto concretizado no MNMC teve como objetivo incluir a
audiodescrição nos audioguias existentes neste museu e ao mesmo tempo realçar a importância
que a audiodescrição tem na vida das pessoas cegas ou com baixa visão. A escolha deste tema
prende-se com o crescente interesse na audiodescrição, modalidade da TAV, como uma solução
de acessibilidade para espaços públicos e culturais, particularmente no contexto museológico.
O ponto de partida foram quinze peças de arte e após várias visitas e pesquisa documental foram
criados novos textos audiodescritos para incluir nos audioguias do museu. A validação destes
textos foi feita através de visitas presenciais com diferentes tipos de público. Os resultados
revelaram que a audiodescrição quando aliada à exploração tátil enriquece exponencialmente a
experiência museológica. A relação criada entre as palavras e o toque ajuda o visitante cego ou
com baixa visão a perceber a peça, a fazer sentido do que sentem e aumenta o interesse e o valor
social da experiência.
Apesar de a audiodescrição não ser ainda utilizada no contexto museológico como seria
desejável espera-se que este contributo faça a diferença na vida das pessoas que decidem visitar
o MNMC.
Cumpre-se uma das mais importantes funções do tradutor: colocar a tradução ao serviço da
comunidade.
The valorization of cultural heritage and the growing cultural tourism industry have become the perfect allies for the promotion of social cohesion. Museums, being privileged places for the dissemination of culture, are becoming increasingly inclusive and audiodescription allows this step to be taken so that people with visual impairment are given the opportunity to enjoy a visit to the museum autonomously. The aim of this project carried out at the MNMC was to include audiodescription in the existing audioguides of this museum and at the same time to emphasize the importance of audiodescription in the life of those who are visually impaired. The choice of this theme is related to the growing interest in audiodescription, a form of AVT, as an accessibility solution for public and cultural spaces, particularly in the museological context. The starting point was the fifteen works of art and after several visits and documentary research the new audiodescribed texts were created so as to be included in the audioguides of the museum. The validation of these texts was attained through on-sight visits with different types of audiences. The results revealed that audiodescription, when combined with tactile exploration, exponentially enriches the museum experience. The relationship created between words and touch helps visitors with visual impairment to make sense of what they feel, helps to perceive the work of art and increases the interest and social value of the experience. Although audiodescription is not yet used in the museological context as it would be desirable, this contribution is expected to make a difference in the lives of those who decide to visit the MNMC.
