It discusses the historical evolution of computing platforms over the past decades and the technical hurdles that led to the manycore revolution, then presents in details several manycore platforms, outlining (i) the key architectural traits that enable scalability to several tens or hundreds of processing cores and (ii) the shared resources that are responsible for unpredictable timing.pt_PT
