A tomada de decisão no que diz respeito à área científica em que se vão prosseguir os estudos é um dos momentos mais significativos da vida de um indivíduo. Esta decisão impacta a realização e satisfação de cada um relativamente à sua vida pessoal e profissional. Devido ao peso que esta decisão tem, é natural que quando chega o momento de cada estudante decidir que curso irá seguir, surjam dúvidas e incertezas quanto àquilo que pretendem fazer no seu futuro. Por este motivo, cada escola oferece um serviço de orientação vocacional, que tem como objetivo auxiliar os alunos neste processo.
De acordo com a investigação nesta área, o apoio prestado na orientação vocacional não é o suficiente para responder às necessidades dos alunos. São algumas as razões que podem justificar este fenómeno e que vou procurar identificar e compreender ao longo deste trabalho. Além disso, este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar em profundidade a orientação vocacional, de modo a apresentar e fundamentar um projeto que permita explorar estratégias e práticas que possam aperfeiçoá-la garantindo que os estudantes façam escolhas mais informadas e sustentadas relativamente ao seu futuro.
Deciding which scientific field to study is one of the most significant moments in an individual's life. This decision impacts each person's fulfilment and satisfaction in their personal and professional lives. Given the weight of this decision, it is natural that when the time comes for each student to decide which course to follow, doubts and uncertainties arise about what they want to do in the future. For this reason, each school offers a career guidance service, which aims to assist students in this process. According to research in this area, the support provided in vocational guidance is not sufficient to meet the needs of students. There are several reasons that may explain this phenomenon, which I will seek to identify and understand throughout this work. In addition, this work aims to study vocational guidance in depth, in order to present and substantiate a project that allows for the exploration of strategies and practices that can improve it, ensuring that students make more informed and sustained choices about their future.
