Abstract(s)
do processo.
As a result of globalisation and the inherent movement of people and goods around the world, the transport sector is increasingly becoming a crucial part of everyday life. As such, the transport of goods is no exception, and it is important that its processes are increasingly optimised. This project arises in a transport company to adress the need to optimise the load planning process and the routes adopted. The aim was to make the transport service provided to a furniture manufacturing company, which wants to fulfil orders from its customers in France, more efficiently. With this project, it was possible to improve the planning process from the moment the packing list is received to the moment it is delivered to the customer, by adopting / changing the daily procedures considered relevant for better operation. In a second phase, a mathematical model was developed for the CVRP (Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem). With the improvements applied, it was possible to make the planning process more efficient, and this improvement was reflected in the results presented to the customer, with an increase in the speed of responses to delivery requests, as well as in the dispatch capacity, with an increase in the flow of deliveries.
