Este relatório constitui o catálogo do espólio de cerâmica do Convento da Madre de Deus de Monchique no Porto. É através das peças encontradas no Convento de Monchique que se consegue consolidar o conhecimento histórico, traçando uma linha evolutiva sobre as cerâmicas, faianças, porcelanas e azulejos encontrados no mesmo. Este estudo serviu para conhecer com mais profundidade aquele local.
A análise deste espólio passa por várias fases e técnicas de investigação. Inicialmente, procura-se fazer um estudo do tipo de material, da decoração usada, das marcas do oleiro e do fabrico. Este trabalho é sempre complementado por uma pesquisa bibliográfica.
Arqueologia & Património foi a grande protagonista deste projeto, sendo a responsável pela escavação e o posterior estudo aos materiais encontrados. Esta Empresa presta inúmeros serviços, desenvolvendo um processo constante de aperfeiçoamento das metodologias e procedimentos a aplicar. Aqui desenvolve-se uma intervenção multidisciplinar entre o papel do património histórico-arqueológico e o desenvolvimento cultural, económico e social, apostando no rigor científico e na conservação e divulgação do património. O fundo faz parte de um dos projetos aceite pela Empresa e que ainda hoje é estudado, devido à sua diversidade e abundância de peças.
Irá ser feito um estudo aprofundado sobre o espólio arqueológico para ser feita a catalogação das peças encontradas na cozinha do Convento da Madre de Deus de Monchique.
This report is the catalogue of the ceramic collection of the Convento da Madre de Deus de Monchique, in Porto. It is through the pieces found in the Convento de Monchique that the historical knowledge can be consolidated, drawing an evolutionary line on the ceramics, earthenware, porcelain and tiles found in it. This study served to get to know better, and more deeply that historical place. The analysis of this estate went through several stages and research techniques. Initially, an attempt was made to analyze the type of material, the decoration used, the potter's marks and the manufacture. Every stage of this study was always accompanied by a bibliographic research. Archeology & Heritage was the main protagonist of this project, being responsible for the excavation and subsequent study of the materials found. The Company provides numerous services, developing a constant process of improving the methodologies and procedures to apply. Here a multidisciplinary intervention is developed between the role of historical-archaeological heritage and cultural, economic and social development, focusing on scientific rigor and the conservation and dissemination of heritage. The fund is part of one of the projects accepted by the Company and is still studied due to its diversity and abundance of pieces. An in-depth study of the archaeological estate will be done to catalogue the pieces found in the kitchen of the Convento da Madre de Deus de Monchique.
