As tecnologias sem fios têm vindo a ser alvo de grandes desenvolvimentos o que se apresenta como uma excelente oportunidade para empresas automatizarem e otimizarem os seus processos de negócio. A tecnologia Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) permite estes automatismos com baixo nível de investimento permitindo acesso a informação relativa á localização de equipamentos em tempo real. Este projeto surge da necessidade da Caetano Retail em possuir uma ferramenta que permita o tracking de viaturas nas suas instalações, bem como uma ferramenta para o apoio á decisão na gestão de espaço e no processo de preparação de viaturas. A arquitetura apresentada foi implementada em ambiente laboratorial e o resultado foi um protótipo funcional que serve como prova de conceito e que utiliza beacons e antenas BLE por forma a simular o posicionamento das viaturas. Os processos cobertos por este protótipo contam com o suporte de uma aplicação móvel que permite assegurar a mobilidade dos colaboradores pelas instalações. A informação recolhida pela infraestrutura de antenas é enviada para uma plataforma central que efetua o processamento dos dados e permite ao utilizador a gestão do sistema.

Bluetooth Low Energy technology enables these automatization with low-investment providing access to real-time location information. This project arises from the need of Caetano Retail to have a tool that allows the tracking of vehicles in its facilities, as well as a tool to support the decision in the space management and the process of vehicles preparation. The architecture presented was implemented in laboratory environment and the result was a functional prototype that serves as proof of concept and that uses beacons and BLE antennas to simulate the positioning of the vehicles. The processes covered by this prototype are supported by a mobile application that ensures the mobility of employees in the facilities. The information collected by the infrastructure of antennas is sent to a central platform that performs data processing and allows the user to manage the system.
