Abstract(s)
The construction industry is one of the sectors that consumes the most raw materials, causing major environmental impacts. The adoption of materials that promote sustainability, and with low embodied energy, contributes to the reduction of environmental impacts. In the scope of the subject in question, a case study was developed in the company LF Infinitech, of a building where the construction materials used were replaced by more sustainable materials, analysing their environmental, social and economic advantages and disadvantages. In its analysis, we tried to obtain a better understanding of the added value that sustainable materials can reveal compared to other materials in the construction sector and their impact on the environment. This analysis will show that it is possible to find and adopt materials that improve the sustainability of buildings, allowing the reduction of the consumption of raw materials in the construction sector.
