Abstract(s)
This dissertation project, inserted in the obtention of the MsC in Mechanical Engineering - Industrial Management branch, lectured on Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, was carried out at Amorim Cork Composites, a leader in cork composites. This project had as main objective the implementation of some tools based on agile management, focused on improving new product development processes. The research methodology employed was Action Research. In this way, the investigation was started with a bibliographic review on Agile, its origin, principles, and associated tools. Then a diagnosis was made of the current state of the company's process, determining some performance and waste measures in the system. After the analysis has been completed and the problems have been synthesized, intervention proposals were developed with the objective of responding to the problems identified in the system, namely, the centralization of the management of development requests, the sorting and prioritization of requests, the measurement of performance indicators and the automation of related processes, among other proposals that allowed to obtain positive results in the company's value chain resulting in an increase in productivity compared to the initial situation, namely in reducing the time used to fund new prices from four to one week and in increasing the number of new products launched on the market, with 51 SKUs already launched in early 2020.
