O presente Relatório de Estágio apresenta a intervenção pedagógica Veggie garden: Cultivating
the Future, desenvolvida com uma turma do 4º ano do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, na Escola A, em
Marco de Canaveses. O projeto teve como principal objetivo explorar a interdisciplinaridade,
utilizando uma horta escolar para fomentar a aprendizagem articulada de inglês, Matemática e
Estudo do Meio. Com base em metodologias ativas, os alunos participaram em cinco sessões que incluíram desde a plantação e etiquetagem em língua inglesa até à análise matemática do crescimento das plantas. Instrumentos como o Garden Diary e a construção de um Pop-Up Book permitiram registar de forma sistemática a evolução do projeto. Perante os desafios impostos
pelas condições climatéricas, a utilização de ferramentas digitais, nomeadamente o Canva, cuja utilização demonstrou a capacidade de adaptação pedagógica, assegurando a continuidade e eficácia do processo de aprendizagem. Os resultados obtidos apontam para a eficácia na articulação curricular, demonstrando que uma horta pedagógica pode ser um recurso educativo notável para a formação integral dos alunos.
This internship report presents the educational intervention Veggie Garden: Cultivating the Future, developed with a 4th-grade class at a Primary School in Marco de Canaveses. The main objective of the project was to explore interdisciplinarity by using a school garden to promote joint learning of English, mathematics, and environmental studies. Using active methodologies, the pupils participated in five sessions, ranging from planting and labelling in English to mathematical analysis of plant growth. Tools such as the Garden Diary and the creation of a Pop-Up Book allowed the evolution of the project to be systematically recorded. Faced with the challenges posed by climatic conditions, the use of digital tools, namely Canva, which demonstrated the ability to adapt pedagogical strategies while maintaining the effectiveness of the learning process. The results obtained underline the effectiveness of the school programme, demonstrating that an educational garden can be a remarkable educational resource for the comprehensive training of students
