| dc.description.abstract | Na nossa geração, a atualidade é marcada por diversos fatores, principalmente a um nível consciencial. Pode-se dizer que, nos dias de hoje há uma mudança na mentalidade de uma grande parte da população, no que toca a causas individuais, sociais e até mesmo ambientais. A nível ambiental, devido ao crescimento desenfreado de uma sociedade industrializada, a qual se observou num curto espaço de tempo, este crescimento não vem sem as suas contrapartidas. Uma dessas contrapartidas, a um nível mais generalizado, é a degradação do nosso planeta, derivado pela crescente necessidade de bens, devido ao crescimento populacional, o que implica uma maior necessidade de produção de bens essenciais, tal como não essenciais. Deste aumento de produção, são gerados resíduos os quais deviam ser tratados e mantidos em locais, onde não causem efeitos nefastos à saúde e ao ambiente. Contudo tal não se verifica à escala global, sendo que problemas de contaminação/poluição de águas e solos são uma preocupação crescente. O objetivo deste trabalho é o de avaliar o estado ambiental dos solos, na envolvente de uma indústria, a qual se encontra abandonada, ou seja, verificar se existem elementos com um teor superior ao recomendado e, se tal se relevar, fornecer um possível tratamento do terreno. Esta avaliação foi efetuada em três fases, tendo cada uma destas fases um componente “in-situ” e outro laboratorial. Durante estas fases foram recolhidas amostras de terreno, através de sondagens, as quais foram analisadas em laboratório, revelando uma contaminação do solo local por 3 metais pesados, Cádmio, Chumbo e Zinco. Com a recolha de sondagens e a sua posterior análise foi possível delimitar a área contaminada e efetuar uma proposta de tratamento da mesma. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In our generation, the current times are marked by several factors, mainly at the conscientious level. It can be said that today, there is a change in the mentality of a big part of the population regarding causes such as individual, social, or even environmental ones. Regarding the environment, due to the rampant growth of an industrialized society, which is observed in a small-time window (centuries), this growth takes a toll. At a most generalized level, one of these tolls is the degradation of our planet due to the crescent necessity of supplies due to the population growth, which implies a greater need in the production of goods both essential as non-essential. Of this production increase, residues are generated; this residue should be treated and kept in places that cannot harm both life and the environment. However, such is not observed globally; for reasons like this, contamination and pollution of soils and waters are a growing concern. The objective of this work is that of evaluating the current environmental state of the ground surrounding an abandoned industrial compound, more precisely, verifying if there are elements with a content in the terrain higher than the recommended values, and if such is observed, provide a possible way to fix the area. This evaluation was executed in three phases; each one of these phases had an “in situ” component and a laboratory. During these phases, terrain samples were collected, with the help of probes/surveys, the ones analyzed in the laboratory, revealing contamination by three heavy metals, Cadmium, Lead and Zinc. With the collection of probes and its posterior analysis, it was possible to infer boundaries in the contaminated area and propose a potential treatment for the stated site. | pt_PT |
