Abstract(s)

Este estudo insere-se no รขmbito da Geometria e pretende compreender a influรชncia dos recursos didรกticos utilizados no reconhecimento de propriedades e relaรงรตes geomรฉtricas em figuras planas. De acordo com o objetivo do estudo formulamos duas questรตes orientadoras que se articulam entre si. - Que fragilidades apresentam os alunos, no reconhecimento de propriedades geomรฉtricas em figuras planas? - Que contributos resultam da utilizaรงรฃo de materiais manipulรกveis, na visualizaรงรฃo espacial e investigaรงรฃo de propriedades geomรฉtricas? Com este estudo pretendemos reunir informaรงรฃo que contribua para aprofundar o conhecimento sobre o raciocรญnio geomรฉtrico dos alunos. Em termos metodolรณgicos segue um mรฉtodo de investigaรงรฃo misto, com recolha de informaรงรฃo qualitativa de natureza interpretativa e quantitativa, na modalidade de estudo de caso. A recolha de dados foi realizada numa turma de 4.ยบ ano do ensino bรกsico onde foi desenvolvida a experiรชncia didรกtica. A informaรงรฃo recolhida resultou da observaรงรฃo direta e as fontes dos dados foram as produรงรตes dos alunos, as notas de campo, registos fotogrรกficos, vรญdeo e รกudio. A docente assumiu o papel de investigadora e orientadora das tarefas propostas aos alunos tendo estes desempenhado um papel ativo na construรงรฃo do seu prรณprio conhecimento. Os resultados obtidos permitem evidenciar as fragilidades dos alunos no reconhecimento de propriedades geomรฉtricas de figuras planas em diferentes posiรงรตes. Destacam ainda os contributos da utilizaรงรฃo da Mira e do Tangram, no estudo da simetria e no desenvolvimento da visualizaรงรฃo espacial para a concretizaรงรฃo de aprendizagens concretas, motivadoras e significativas.
This study falls within the scope of geometry and intends to understand the influence of using teaching resources in the identification of geometrical properties and relationships in plane shapes. According to the aim of the study, we formulate two guiding questions that articulate together: - What are the students' weaknesses in the identification of geometrical properties of plane shapes? - What are the contributions resulting from using manipulatives in spatial visualization and in the study of geometrical properties? With this study we intend to gather information that contributes to deepening knowledge about the geometrical reasoning of the students. In terms of methodology it follows a joint research method with the collection of qualitative information with interpretative nature in conjunction with quantitative information, in a case study mode. The data collection was carried out in a 4th grade primary school class where the learning experience has been developed. The information gathered resulted from direct observation and the data sources were comprised by the studentsโ€™ productions, field scores as well as photographic, video and audio records. The teacher took both the roles of researcher and adviser for the tasks proposed to the students, having them played an active role in the building of their own knowledge. The obtained results allow to evidence the students' weaknesses in identifying geometrical properties of plane shapes placed in different positions. They also highlight the contributions of using the Sight and the Tangram in the study of symmetry and in the development of the spatial visualization, to achieve concrete, motivating and meaningful learnings.
