Abstract(s)
Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) has proven to be essential in organizational contexts, playing a key role in enhancing performance and ensuring organizational sustainability. In the context of Social Economy Organizations (SEOs), people management takes on particular characteristics due to their social mission, non-profit nature, and strong adherence to values such as solidarity, participation, and inclusion. This study aimed to analyze the HRMD practices implemented in SEOs, seeking to understand how these entities structure and operationalize people management in light of their available resources, sector-specific demands, and current challenges, while identifying the strategies adopted, the difficulties encountered, and the perceptions of professionals responsible for human resource management. To achieve this aim, a mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining a questionnaire administered to HR managers in various SEOs with documentary analysis. This approach enabled a broader and more contextualized understanding of the subject under study. The data obtained allowed the identification of common characteristics across HRMD practices in SEOs, as well as structural challenges that affect their effectiveness. This study aims to contribute to the reflection and development of more robust strategies that are tailored to the realities of the Social Economy, with a focus on valuing human resources as a central element of organizational success and mission fulfilment.
