Esta tese apresenta, no seu primeiro capítulo, o conceito de analogia musical a partir do trabalho de Lawrence M. Zbikowski e traz este conceito para a análise do repertório vocal contemporâneo. Em seguida, no segundo capítulo introduz o conceito da desanalogia, trazendo também para a análise o comportamento e expressões faciais dos intérpretes, desta forma reunindo o âmbito do texto, da música e do comportamento para analisar as analogias e desanalogias encontradas numa determinada peça. No terceiro capítulo, é analisada a peça
Conscience (2023), que integra o meu portfólio de composição, constituindo o culminar de toda a investigação. Composta especialmente como forma de explorar estes três âmbitos, esta peça demonstra como a música ganha mais camadas de significado por meio das analogias e desanalogias compostas entre música, texto e comportamento.
This thesis presents, in its first chapter, the concept of music analogy based on the work of Lawrence M. Zbikowski and applies this concept to the analysis of contemporary vocal repertoire. In the second chapter it introduces the concept of disanalogy, considering the behavior and facial expressions of performers, thus gathering the scope of text, music and behavior in order to analyze the analogies and disanalogies found in a certain piece. The third chapter examines the piece Conscience (2023), which integrates my composition portfolio, constituting the culmination of all the research. Specifically created to explore these three aspects, this piece demonstrates how the music gains additional layers of meaning through the composed analogies and disanalogies between music, text and behavior.
