Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho foi elaborado durante o corrente ano do Mestrado em Ensino de Música, da Escola Superior de Música e Artes de Espetáculo, e divide-se em três capítulos distintos.
O primeiro capítulo é dedicado a uma contextualização do ensino musical em Portugal e no Conservatório do Porto, a instituição onde o estágio foi realizado. Incorpora elementos de história, organização e recursos humanos, valores e tradição, e estrutura educacional.
O segundo capítulo compreende toda a informação recolhida durante os meses do estágio, e sobre os professores coordenadores. Inclui notas de todas as aulas observadas, juntamente com notas dos professores sobre a minha prática.
O terceiro capítulo sintetiza o projeto de investigação proposto, sobre o tema da ansiedade e depressão entre os estudantes do ensino musical. Partindo de um quadro teórico em torno da ansiedade e depressão, e mais precisamente do impacto nos adolescentes e estudantes de música, avança para uma componente mais prática: uma entrevista realizada com o psicólogo escolar e a interpretação dos dados recolhidos a partir de um questionário aplicado sobre a população estudantil. O objetivo da investigação é compreender melhor as implicações do ensino musical na saúde mental dos estudantes e se a escola está ou não suficientemente equipada para lidar com a prevenção e/ou intervenção em casos de ansiedade e depressão.
The present work was put together during the current year of the Master’s in Education, from Escola Superior de Música e Artes de Espetáculo, and has three distinct chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to a contextualization of musical education in Portugal and the Conservatory of Porto, the institution where the internship was conducted. It incorporates elements of history, organization and human resources, values and tradition, educational structure. The second chapter comprises of all of the information gathered during the months of the internship and about the coordinating professors. It includes notes from all of the observed classes, together with notes of the professors regarding my practice. The third chapter sums up the proposed investigation project, on the topic of anxiety and depression amongst music education students. Starting from a theoretical framework surrounding anxiety and depression, and more precise the impact on adolescents and music students, it moves forward to a more practical component: an interview conducted with the school psychologist and the interpretation of data collected from a questionnaire applied on the student population. The aim of the research is to better understand the implications of music education on the mental health of the students and whether or not the school is sufficiently equipped to deal with prevention and/or intervention in cases of anxiety and depression.
