Abstract(s)
In the current investigation the main purpose was to define the thickness of the layers and the deepness of the bed-rock by the seismic refraction method and the dynamic penetrometer medium method. The results of both methods were compared to each other to verify what method should be used for the purpose in study and in the end make result crossover. After the obtained data, profile and 3D surface was built for a better visual interpretation of the data. For this investigation, the field test located in FEUP (Porto) was chosen, in which it is known that it is a field where was buried scrap. The result investigation, it was evident some of the advantages and disadvantages of each method as was concluded that despite being different methods was possible to verify that many of the results obtained in the seismic refraction method, regarding the thickness of the layers, can be proven by the dynamic penetrometer medium (DPM).
