Abstract(s)
Model and Notation (BPMN) e Value Stream Mapping (VSM). O BPMN permitiu mapear e analisar
Ainda assim, as
The dissertation "Process Analysis and Improvement in a Textile Company" explores the implementation of Lean methodologies at JFV Têxteis Lda., a Portuguese textile company. The aim of this study was to optimize production processes by identifying inefficiencies and waste, to increase the company's competitiveness in the market, promoting more efficient and sustainable production. To achieve this goal, two methodological approaches were used: Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). BPMN allowed for the mapping and analysis of administrative and operational processes, while VSM was applied to identify waste throughout the value chain. Lean tools, such as 5S, SMED, and Kanban, were implemented to improve organization, reduce setup times, and automate key processes. The results revealed a significant improvement in operational efficiency and product quality, with a substantial reduction in waste. However, the full implementation of the proposed solutions faced some limitations due to resource and time constraints. Nevertheless, the changes made demonstrated the positive impact of applying Lean philosophy, highlighting its essential role in the continuous improvement of processes and in maintaining competitiveness in the textile sector. This study thus demonstrates that adopting Lean methodologies can bring significant benefits to textile companies, promoting greater efficiency, sustainability, and responsiveness to market demands.
